It’s motto is that the solvent people want to save money too, but they do it in higher volumes. In this case, 99 cents stores also got an advantage over their competitors. The growth of the company is the result of advanced information technology. The company keeps buying new softwares to meet the varying needs. It illustrates the company’s ability to recognize the growing importance of information technology in 21st century.
Besides providing value to the customers, company itself gets value for using new information technology. Robert Adams who is the vice president of information services for 99 cents only stores weigh the different costs for getting prepackaged softwares and customized softwares. He took an innovative step to provide value to the company. He took a decision to purchase available softwares and modify those to fit deep-discount business. Thus, he saved money and provides better value to the company by using information technology wisely.

The effectiveness of the strategy regarding IT infrastructure is adequately effective. It didn’t prove fully effective due to some pitfalls. But, overall achievement is up to the mark.
Robert Adams replaced the former warehouse management system with a Supply Chain Management Software developed by HighJump Softwares. It is software that allows the users to modify to their own accord. It includes a Radio Frequency Identification System and Voxware voice based picking system. The software module is called Yard advantage. Customer Service Advantage, Advantage Dashboard, Event Advantage are some of the other special features. So far, the cost effectiveness of this system has been achieved, but it has to improve the inventory control procedure closely.
