The novels The Lord of the Flies by William Golding Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Louis Stevenson, show the different sides of good and evil. Good is portrayed by Ralph in The Lord of the Flies and Dr. Jekyll from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde while Jack from The Lord of the Flies and Mr. Hyde in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde show darkness and evil.
Jack on the other hand is the dark side of the novel The Lord of the Flies. Jack starts off on a bad mood when he gets to the island because Ralph was elected to be the leader and not him. Once the idea of a monster was thought of Jack seized his opportunity and created his own camp, recruiting people by using fear. Golding writes about how jack “began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling." (The Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, Chapter 4, pg. 58). That was the time when Jack started to show his dark side.
