IS OBAMA GOOD FOR INDIA
On January 20 Barack Hussein Obama would occupy the white house and the usa in the process would get their first black president. He won the elections with a 53% majority which by no means is an easy task considering he is after all an African American man and the USA is not as liberal as Lincoln or Martin Luther king would have wanted it to be.
The first thing on everybody’s mind is what would he do when finally he takes the center stage after months of anticipation. He has in front of him a mammoth task of firstly reviving the us economy and then after that he has to take care of all the promises he made about tax cuts and bringing soldiers back from Iraq and Afghanistan. However the most important task in front of him would undoubtedly be the economic situation of the USA.
Then there is also the concern of what effect would the election of Obama have on India. Now we should know that Obama at the moment have his hands full while trying to revive the US economy from the worst crisis witnessed in recent history, however here in lies the answer of many as how Obama will effect India. To understand this first we must know that the USA is undoubtedly the largest economy in the world and it has an unparallel effect on the world market, so any move that is made in the us economy is bound to effect India as well as every market in the world be it England , china or Russia as well.
We should also consider Obama’s mentality here he has said in one of his many speeches that “we cannot have a thriving wall street while main street suffers” this clearly explains his approach which is bound to be bottoms up which means first the people would get relief and then the corporates.
