Psychiatric Nursing
AA assignment

I live in a very small town and the AA/NA meetings which are located approximately 30 miles North of my home are closed. I decided my best option would be to interview either a Peron who had recovered from an addiction or was a recovering alcoholic. Honestly I could have interviewed myself.
I grew up with an alcoholic step father, married a man who abused narcotics, marijuana, and over time began using methamphetamines. BUT this is not about me.
I interview a white male in his late 40’s. He had been married for almost 25 years to his now ex-wife. When I approached him with the idea of this interview he was hesitant as he stated this was a time in his life he “does not like to think about”
Subject admits to noticing changes in s/o behavior with a gradual onset from changing the crowd of friends to not being able to account of where about. She would have rapid mood swings. Subject stated he first noticed things were not right after HIS surgery & her persistence on him filling his pain medication which he denies taking. He stated the medication would come via mail order every 30 days and he never saw it. He stated it was that, being told her car was even in un favorable part of ton frequently and the final straw was receding phone call from an out of town pharmacy sating her rx was ready. Subjs=etc. stated he began to do some of his own investigation and found numerous receipts from serval different pharmacies.
