Obesity is known as the event of having an excessively high amount of body fat. These days, the rate of obesity is rapidly increasing and is fast becoming one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Many children are on the fast track of becoming obese and if it isn’t stopped in the beginning, this will be carried on to adulthood and can lead to an early death. There are several reasons why obesity is fast affecting our society.

One of the main causes of obesity is an unhealthy diet. In this modern era, many people choose to consume fast food as those are easily available everywhere and also very cheap. Moreover, fast food is also widely consumed because it is considered delicious but people do not realise the dangers of over-indulging in these meals. Children are especially fond of burgers, pizzas and soft drinks and again, these can be purchased almost anywhere. In addition to that, most parents are busy working and do not have the time to prepare meals at home for themselves and their children leading to buying unhealthy take-outs and fast food which are packed with calories that contributes to obesity. This problem however, can be solved by feeding, encouraging or teaching children to cook healthier meal choices and banning junk foods and soft drinks in schools.

The next cause of obesity is the lack of exercise. The people of today are more interested in gadgets and social networking and are far more reluctant to go for a run. Without the right amount of exercise, calories are not burned efficiently and people find themselves gaining several kilograms in months. Although at first it may be just a few kilos, through prolonged lack of exercise, obesity is very much a big possibility. To properly digest the consumed food, physical exercise is compulsory but the modern day sedentary life style leaves less time to work out. Most people also take cars and other vehicles to work and the amount of walking to a destination has significantly decreased...
