Observing Others Observe Is an Interesting Observation

Spending an hour or so at the mall can be quite enlightening. Without evidently staring, which can raise red flags with the mall police, you can quietly sit on a bench and observe humanity around you. I tend to be very observant when it comes to emotional input. When someone is smiling or laughing, but there is pain in his or her eyes I will see that pain. I realize when people who act over confident are scared out of their wits. I know when one person truly loves or doesn't like another, regardless of gestures going on that might seem the opposite. Take that group of teen-age girls ogling that group of teen-age boys across the way. You can almost pick out the cheerleader, the debate team member, the honor roll student, the class clown and the dateless, wallflower interested in chemical reactive elements. She was part of the female group because her brother was the cutest one in the male group. By allowing her to be part of this circle of friends, they are allowing themselves access to him. It makes perfect sense to me.
As I continued to discretely watch the two groups, I noticed that the introvert had caught one of the boy’s attention. Although a very beautiful girl, with distinct facial structures, and gorgeous long black hair, she stood in an awkward stance, feet facing each other, while trying to avoid the boy’s eyes. I could instantly recognize her insecurities, but the intrigued little gent still seemed to be mesmerized by her. I don’t really blame him; she was definitely an interesting character that would make any sane person want to be around her. Which makes this whole group of girls even more confusing and fascinating. I feel that the only reason these girls ignore this alluring soul, is due to their own insecurities with themselves. I wouldn’t be surprised if they felt threatened by her in some way and therefore reflect those insecurities onto her, making her feel less confident about herself.
