There are many reasons to be punctual when it comes to the work week. If you are not were you supposed to be it cost the business money (galley, post office, or large corporation) to that operation which creates more losses? Time management seems to be a constant issue with me and my normal routine. It does not matter if I have my whole day planned from start to finish I become easily distracted and procrastinate which shows poor time management skills on my part. I am constantly rushing out the door to get to work on time which affects all my co-workers and puts more responsibility on others rather than myself. I have a tendency to justify my procrastination in my mind but when it comes to my mistakes the only person I can blame is me. I will tell myself that I will not make the same mistake again, but always find a way to mess up again. I have set restrictions such as two alarms, getting a better amount of sleep, and managing my time in a better more proper manner. Being at the appropriate place of duty at the correct time is a vital element of being a respectable shipmate. A sailor can not become successful in the United States Navy if he or she is constantly late. A good shipmate who truly wants to succeed in the military must go out of his or her way to get squared away on his or her duty station. This concept goes for any person in any career field which almost all employers do not accept tardiness. If you are the one who can not carry out the most simple and most important aspect of being a United States Sailor, he or she will be considered a "dirt bag". I could write this essay and fill it with excuses as to why I was late, but the fact of the matter is that there is no excuse. When I am late it makes everyone else run behind which then makes all the students eat late and they have to wait which makes them late for class for the day.
