Federal Express is an organization founded by Fredric W. Smith the current CEO of the company. Fed Ex has been in business since 1971 with Fredric’s vision of having a package deliver without having a third party involved, until the package is the customer hands (FedEx Corporation, 1995-2012) . To provide these services all around the world, the company’s structure is divided from global regions, geographical areas, and its many services that they provide from air, ground, express, and information technology. The company’s goal is to become the best delivery of goods to customer around the world through investment in future technology. The company’s goal is to be better that UPS and their network. In evaluating their organizational functions and design, it can be see that they are on their way to another successful year.
Fed Ex is a company structure with a hierarchy with the top being a CEO and its board of directors that oversee the company. They have a yearly meeting with its top investors in the company where they discuss the direction of the company. The organization, is then followed by the various leaders of the company that handle their own compartment like human resources, marketing, legal, technology systems, etc.. After that, Fed Ex has offered various services over the years such as Fed Ex Freight, Fed Ex Express, Fed Ex Office and many more.
FedEx is a company that has succeeded in making a profitable company since their upstart in 1971 under the direction of its current CEO. Through their network, they are able to provide fast-globalized courier services.
