Our Love for Eachother
Since the beginning of time, love, and compassion has been a root in humanity's demeanor. Our ability to love and care for another has been a valuable trait but is often forgotten. "Be compassionate. And take responsibility for each other. If we only learned those lessons, this world would be so much a better place" Says Mich Albom in his book Tuesdays with Morrie. In our country's darkest times the Civil War is a key point in time where we lacked these traits. Even in our everyday lives love and compression lacks even in the youth and in the world around us. But although our failures, our biggest role models to how we show affection today is our loving parents.
Throughout generations, compassion and love have played important roles in the dynamics of human interaction. In the United States our Civil War was one of our bloodiest battles. Brother fighting brother, and father fighting son. If we could be compassionate towards the fact that not everyone was the typical white farmer then there wouldn't be so much segregation and racism today. Judging someone based on their skin color and deriding them for being born a specific way is an example of humanity's lack of compassion and love for one another. Thought history nothing has changed but the enormity of the shadow we cast on people who appear "different". Love and compassion doesn't mean that we have to love others like we love our mother and father, or boyfriend and girlfriend, but to see each other as an equal. Finding it in ourselves to do so could bring new ideas, less violence, more lives, and simply a bigger better future. Being responsible for our actions towards our peers is key role in making the world a better place. Thinking before you speak and keeping in mind others have the same feelings as you do is just a start to making this world a better place.
