Pablo Ruiz Picasso

Picasso was born Pablo Ruiz y Picasso on October 25, 1881, in Malaga, Spain. Picasso’s career was very successful and was thanks to the inspiration of other great artists. Picasso really began to thrive creatively once he moved to Paris in the early 1900s. There he was saw works of other artists and developed friendships with some of them, one of them being Georges Braque. Picasso’s art ranged in styles, mostly because of the time periods. Picasso's work was often categorized into different periods. His early years in Paris coincide with his Blue period. This was followed by his Rose period and a brief dabbling in work inspired by primitive art. It was Cubism (the style in which the artist breaks down his or her subjects into geometric shapes) that put Picasso on the road to becoming a famous artist. These styles of using different colors and shades also expressed the different stages and expressions of his life. They show his emotion in a few, take for example his blue stage. Some people believe some sort of event saddened Picasso and that this affected his paintings and his style. Some people, on the other hand, believe that he may have been sad, but he did not allow it to affect his artwork. And yet another group of people think and believe that this was just a simple expression of the times and had no meaning and importance toward his feelings and emotions. The two colors I have listed above were said to be Picasso’s most used and favorite colors. Some of Picasso’s most famous paints are only black paint with a white fabric canvas behind it. Mostly Pablo used many different colors in all his paintings. This gave different effects to the people who look at the art. Some people interpret his painting by his use of different and specific colors, some people interpret them by the art painted in the painting, and others just enjoy his paintings because of there legacy...
