Patience and Perseverance
Do you ever feel like you want to give up? I do sometimes, but I also keep on trying. This is called perseverance. Perseverance will always help you; now and in the future. To me perseverance means to not give up in spite of difficulty.
My example of perseverance in my life began as a baby. You see, I was born with a hairy nevis, what you probably know as a birth mark, on my face. After a while, my parents started to noticed that it was growing. They took me to several doctors and they all said,”Get it removed. It will leave a mark, but it may be cancerous.” My parents realised that the last resort was to have it taken off. At the day of my surgery, I got to wear my P.J.’s to the hospital. I layed on a cot, and they rolled me to the surgical room. I remember the doctors giving me some antiseptics. I fell asleep very fast. When I woke up from the operation, the T.V was on and my mom handed me Jell-O. I remember my dad giving me a pair of slippers with hippos on them as a gift. Still, today I am glad that I had my birth mark taken off. Here’s a quote that I think relates to my essay: “Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.”
