Peaches
The veterinarian came into the room we got called in only a moment ago. She asked what we thought was wrong. It was only supposed to be a broken leg.
I wasn’t feeling good so I stayed home from school. My older sister Candis was home because she didn’t star school until later. My little sister got home around 3. Candis thought the maintenance guy was coming to fix the carpet in my parents’ bedroom.so we put all the cats in my room so they wouldn’t get in the way. My little sister KyAnna put peaches in my room. The guy never came so we let the cats out.
Not long after I noticed peaches outside of the kitchen meowing. I went to see what was wrong with her. She was laying down, and when she moved, she just dragged her back legs behind her. Candis and I figured it was because KyAnna threw her in my room and she hit something. We thought she had a broken leg.
We told our mom and she got off work early to take her to the vet I went with her. When we got there I gave Peaches to one of the nurses and we sat in the waiting room. I remember seeing someone bring in a dog that had just had puppies. Some of them dies and that set the mood for what happened next.
We got called into a room and were told the doctor would be in, in a moment. When she came in she asked what we thought had happened. We explained we thought it was KyAnna. She sai that what she was seeing wasn’t caused by anyone, but that she had a heart condition. She wasn’t getting any blood flow to her back legs because of a blood clot. She told us animals like that aren’t very comfortable and that treatment usually doesn’t work. She said the best thing to do was put her down. Of course she apologized and was sorry she had to tell us this but she’s done it before and knew how to handle it. But not me, I was taking this all in so fast it wasn’t processing. It didn’t feel real. I looked at my mom and I could see her eyes shiny with tears, and I knew it was real. I lost it. My mom...
