The story I am about to tell was not meant for many to hear, or to be repeated, so as I speak these words I pray that you keep your ears open and mouths closed. As everyone knows well Pearl seemed to have nearly vanished so she could make the world a better place, and live a fulfilling rewarding life, however; this was just a story told to keep our faith in change and hope still beating in our ever doubtful hearts. Ever since she was a very young girl Pearl knew that she was different, not because of her mother and their situation that they had been forced to live with, but because of the internal powers that she possessed.
When Pearl was a young age she crossed paths with a strange woman, never being afraid to speak up Pearl demanded this women tell her who she was and what she was doing. The women spoke of her name being Mistress Hibbins, and that she could promise Pearl a better life for her and her mother, followed of course with a consequence, as all great deals are. Mistress Hibbins promised Pearl that with time her mother would be looked upon as a strong women who had overcame many great obstacles, instead of one who acted out against god in a great act of rebellion.
Intrigued with the opportunity of being normal and having her mother be treated with respect Pearl obliged not knowing her future fate. At that moment in time when Pearl agreed, a great streak beamed across the sky, resembling the letter “A”. “The deed has been done,” spoke Mistress Hibbins, “now young Pearl when you come of age you owe your life to me and my work, you will be blessed with powers unseen to average humans, although; you must not use these powers until you are of age.”
“Mother must know!’ argued the little girl.
“Never shall you speak of this day or a curse may be passed upon to you and everyone that you care for in your life,” Mistress Hibbins threatened and with that she had vanished into the deep darkness of the woods.”
