Perfect Life

What would you consider the “perfect life”? Hi my name is Brandon Wilson, some say I had the perfect life growing up but they just don’t know what goes on in my everyday life. In my family it was just me, my mom, dad and my older brother. We stayed on the Westside of Detroit. We always went to what people called the better schools in Detroit. All people really seen was the fact that I always had on the newest pairs of shoes or even the brand new video games. My dad worked at a tire shop on Fenkell and Wyoming called “Dun Rite Tire”, but that’s not all, he also sold drugs on the side which I didn’t find out until I was about 16. My mother is an Occupational Therapist at Botsford Hospital, they got divorced when I was about 7 years old and the main reason was the fact that he was dealing drugs. Watching them constantly argue, yell, cuss and everything like that would affect most kids. I always told myself I wouldn’t be the one too let certain a thing that happens in my life weigh me down and stop me from being the best that I could be. All my life I’ve been the one that was so called “different”, living in Detroit is far way more different than living in any oher city of Michigan. Everyone on my street was playing basketball; I was into baseball. They stayed out late, I was inside writing poetry. They listened to rap; I was into R & B and Rock. I was well known on my street, everyone knew exactly who I was. Never in my life have I been an outcast. I just decided to do things different so I could be the one who stood out. I don’t really like to blend in all the times, I much rather be he guy who creates the next basketball than the one who dribbles it. At the same time I always felt like an outcast because I was always doing something that everyone else wasn’t. everyone was able to talk about who could do the best crossover or who had the best jump shot or even free-throw percentage.
