Dear Uncle Craig,
We are finally taking that much needed vacation out to see you. We hope that you will be able to get some time from your busy schedule to show us, firsthand, the Grand Canyon. I remember when I was little and you used to tell me stories about that place; I know you love it there. All of the pictures you have sent us make it look so inviting. I know it has been a long time since we have spent any real time together but the kids are very excited to meet their great uncle for the first time. Its all that they have been talking about for the whole school year; “Summertime and Uncle Craig!”.
I'm not sure if you were aware of this but things at the factory have really slowed down and they are cutting everybody's hours. They are also forcing us to take “unpaid vacations” in order to save the company money and ensure that we can keep our jobs. That being said, it really pains us to have to ask you to help us with this trip but as you can imagine, we have no other choice if we want to make this trip with you before the kids get too big to enjoy it.
We have already sat down and figured out how much it is going to cost for the whole trip and we have made a list and a chart to help make it easier for you see what we have figured out. On our trip we would like to stop at the following places during our trip:
Memphis, TN
Here we will visit the National Civil rights Museum,
Graceland (of course)
and the Memphis Zoo
Albuquerque, NM
Here we pan on visiting the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center
and taking a hot air balloon ride
The Grand Canyon
See the canyon with the greatest tour guide west of the Mississippi
Do some kayaking
Be tourists
