Well I have two motivations. One is my family. I want to show that it's never too late to get an education and in the end it's worth it. Two is my own pride. Once I'm finished and I have that degree I will know that no matter how many setbacks I have had I can persevere through anything and make it out on top. Everyone wants to have a purpose in life and I am no different. I feel my purpose in life is to teach and in order to do that I have to finish school. By going back to school I feel like I'll be showing my daughter and future children the value of having a good education. As well as having believing that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to. My focus is on “Get it done you can't stop now.” That's exactly what I will tell myself.
My learning style quiz results were auditory 40 percent, visual 20 percent, and tactile 40 percent. In order to enhance my auditory way of gaining more from school, I could watch some of the tutorials that is provided in the Ashford library. I also need to make sure that when I am doing my homework online that I am in a quiet area in my home. Being around distracting sounds often breaks up my concentration so a quiet area is a must. I learned that I could also read my assignment aloud and that this could help improve my performance also. This made a light bulb go off in my head; I do sometimes read my homework aloud if I am alone. It really does help me remember my work a lot better. The quiz result also stated if I recorded myself spelling and saying words it would give me a better chance of remembering the words. I love that all the things to help me enhance my learning are very simple; these would be no problem to add to a study schedule.
