Personal Motivation Paper

Motivation is defined as the force that causes us to behave in a certain way. There are intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. Intrinsic are those that arise from inside a person. For example, the desire to be successful is an intrinsic motivator. Extrinsic motivators come from outside like trophies, money, social recognition, etc. When employees are motivated they:
• Look for better ways to do a job
• Care about their customers
• Take pride in their work
• Are more productive
There are many different theories of motivation. Organizations usually combine different types of motivators to encourage their employees to be productive and also to be happy working for the company. However, there are many companies who do not motivate employees.

Employee of the month would improve the employee’s self-esteem and would make them feel like they achieved something good. The expectancy theory describes employees that are motivated because they believe they will receive bonuses or rewards. If you did a good job you would get a raise. The managers combined different theories and were quite successful.
Negative Motivation Experience
