Abstract

In this undertaking students are tasked to write a Personal Values Paper as the individuals personal values relate to the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self assessment and the Kudler Fine Foods scenario. Students are talked to reflect upon insight gained by taking the self assessments and apply personal value system (and management strategy) to the Kudler Fine Foods Scenario.

Personal Values Paper

In preparation for this paper I took Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self assessment and learned (per the test) I am a person of high character and exhibit traits of a person who would do what is right rather than what is right for the situation. While taking the test I continued to think if only the person who created this test could hear my internal conversations when attempting to make an ethical decision verses a more beneficial one, they’d think twice about labeling me with “High Character”. Conversely, I scored low in the Equality department, which I think is a more accurate depiction of my mind state. I have little or no faith in Equality in the work place as it relates to efforts or rewards.

For example two individuals hired on the same day both with similar education and background however; Person A seams to be a natural at the job. He get’s his projects in on time and with what seems to be minimal effort, works his shift unless requested to stay over a leaves as scheduled. Person B also get’s his assignments in on time but to what ease isn’t quite evident. Person B consistently arrives at work before his manager who see’s him on the way to his office. Person B also stays late and is again noticed by his manager when leaving. Both individuals mid year reviews are the same more or less as far as effectiveness however in a section of the review marked Moral & Attitude the manager comments, Person A – “consistently...
