The Career Path that I chose to pursue is located in the school Of Pharmacy. The reason why I chose to get involved in the pharmacy field was fueled by my passion to master old creations of medicine and creates new ones so people could live a longer, painless beautiful life. What a pharmacist really is it’s a medical professional who dispenses drugs to patients according to a prescription ordered by a physician or any other clinician. The person who really influenced my ambition to become a pharmacist was my uncle Dude Mattison who has been a Pharmacist for over 20 years, he recently transferred to Tallahassee to become a professor to share is knowledge in the field and teach new students the tricks of the trade. People seeking to become a pharmacist must complete a pre pharmacy undergraduate program that consist of 60 to 70 semester credits in undergraduate coursework in basic and advance sciences. In Addition to that, a high PCAT(Pharmacy College Admission Test) score is required at most colleges and schools of pharmacy. After completion of an four year program a pharmacist major will be awarded the PharmDWhich is a doctor of pharmacy degree. A pharmacist is also eligible to apply for registration as a graduate student to obtain a masters degree or PhD in one of the pharmaceutical sciences. A pharmacist can also be certified in recognized practice areas by passing an examination administered by the board of pharmaceutical specialties. These are a just a couple of examples of the specialties Nuclear Pharmacy, Nutrition support Pharmacy, Oncology Pharmacy, and pharmacotherapy. On average according to the bureau of labor statistics the average annual salary for pharmacist was $80k for a year or less, 85k for 1-4 years, 96k for 5-9 years, and 101k for 10 or more years.
