Pink’s song ‘Stupid Girls’ uses satire to critique the portrayal of women as sexual objects in popular music videos, saying in the first verse, “What happened to the dream of a girl president? She’s dancing in the video next to 50 cent.” This sets a contrast between the image of a woman of power and the image of a woman as an extra in a rap music video. In “Stupid Girls,” Pink not only illustrates the issue of objectification of women in media and its impact on women and girls around the country, but also proposes a solution. Pink is shown in numerous roles, some of which include a girl in a tanning salon, a girl on an operating table, a girl attempting to attract the attention of a gym instructor and a model with a purging disorder who considers calories "so not sexy". All of these characters fit into the “stupid girl” title and are portrayed negatively through the parodies of young female celebrities, thus affects the responders’ interpretation of the issue of feminism. Close up shots are also used to emphasise certain points and criticisms of celebrities, as well as the high and low angles which are used to demonstrate the powerful in comparison to the weak.

The narrative of the music video is framed around a young girl watching television with an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. As pink sings ‘Maybe if I act like that, that guy will call me back’, the video clip shows a teacher instructing girls on how to flip their hair back, which the little girl immediately imitates by flipping her own hair. This is a clear statement about the fact that girls, especially young ones, interpret the definition of feminine behaviour from the images that they see on television. Three scenes in Pink’s music video reference Paris Hilton, who became famous by modelling and being in a sex tape. Appropriately enough, Pink’s parody of Paris includes the sex tape, the car wash and when she buys an ‘itsy bitsy doggy’ with an ad saying that it "stays younger longer"....
