Pituitary Gland

The pituitary gland can cause major problems to the human body when hormones are not being produced properly. I am writing my paper on the pituitary gland and how its lack or over production of hormones can cause health problems. You will read about the facts of the pituitary gland and you will also read my personal story. You will see how the pituitary gland can affect your everyday life.

The pituitary gland, sometimes called the master gland of the body is pea sized and controls most of the hormones in the body. Just to name a few, it controls the function of the kidneys, thyroid and ovaries. When one hormone is not working properly the whole endocrine system gets messed up. There are quite a few disorders of the pituitary such as gigantism, (over secretion of hormones, or dwarfism (underproduction of hormones).

An adenoma is sometimes just monitored closely but other times the adenoma is causing problems and has to be removed. One
