In the 2015 VMA's, the very talented and famous rapper, Kanye West, went on stage announcing that he plans to run in the 2020 Presidential election. While most of us laugh at this idea, and make jokes on every reason why he shouldn’t become president, or even be taken seriously about it, I read up on this, and I believe that Kanye West may be a perfect candidate for becoming the president of the United States. In the article I read by Osman Faruqi, “Why Kanye West would be the best president in US history (seriously)”, it names off some really good reasons why he would help our world out of this corruption, and evidence to back it up. In his 2010 music hit, power, he spits out lyrics saying “The system broken, the school’s closed, the prison open” while in another song of his, We Don’t Care, he says, “You know the kids gonna act a fool/ when you stop the programs for after school”. These lyrics weren’t just said because they sound good, but because Kanye realizes what is going on in the world, while the majority of us wish to ignore the problem. He’s making a point that with the U.S. having 2.2 million inmates, and spending...
