Cartoon Assignment
The cartoon given has displayed an opinion of what the human race is doing for the earth. So much, as putting both the earth and mankind next to each other and the earth is wearing an “I’m with stupid” shirt and an arrow pointed at mankind his can be interpreted as that earth is independent and mankind is not. The earth more like a parent and just cleaning up after mankind and mankind does not understand what our planet needs. The government is not for filling the needs and not living up to the standards by not trying to figure out what are the needs and instead doing what feels right for mankind. This relates to the theory of how hard mankind is doing to help the planet in the cartoon, mankind is picking its nose (which is a sign of not knowing) also appearing to be helpless in manner of cleaning up after his self. The can on the ground represents the issues at hand and how our government handles the problems, they toss it aside and hopefully it will become some else’s mess and if lucky they might clean it up. Also this can relate to the natural resources being harvested from the earth, because they are limited what mankind use it for is crucial. The limited resources use and the amount in which we use it for could make us seem ignorant to the fact that we cannot find and alternate resource before there is nothing left. The handling of the decisions being made is a little longer than expected, for example the population explosion and sustainable economic growth. Mankind in the cartoon seems to not acknowledge the obvious truth in the matter, one is that earth is next to him and two, earth is wearing the shirt. This can relate to how the government and how the solutions are there but we chose to look in a different direction searching for the answer in the wrong places.
