Political Correctness and Universities
Currently in the Unites States, Students at most Universities have the right to not be discriminated against for various factors such as: sex, religion and race. American Societies have adapted to these standards of political correctness and has endeavored a particular way of speech that protects minorities for ethical purposes. The purpose of this essay stands in subsisting free speech for students, accordingly, allowing the highest form of intellectual autonomy necessary to solve the ever difficult problems of the future.
Tyranny: or the assessment of a series of events in which resolutions made by a majority or democratic structure, that place the majority's interests far above an opposition to a prevailing idea and individual interest. Under this declared rational operate the tyrants who abide in favor of on campus (PC). All in all, to prevent sensitive, women, non-whites, many ignorant Caucasian, religious bigots, the disabled, and homosexuals and of course the ignorant mass: from being emotionally and fundamentally stripped to its core factual essence. ‘’ [such labels] distracts our attention from concrete reality’’ ( Allport 223). With this considered the human conscious need to look beyond these labels and take a step into reality.
(PC) accepted throughout American Universities in this modern day has taken a ridiculous step toward tyranny. These institutions which endure themselves as symbols for intellectual freedom make for a paradox of a concept. The students are now being forced to change their words or paraphrase their own ideas! Students now choose to hide the bare truth and replace them with less harmful connotations. What happened to critically analyzing rigid complex issues?
