A Safety Helmet is a hard hat with padded insides used on construction sites or while operating heavy equipment. The purpose of a safety helmet is to prevent serious injuries from falling or flying objects. To put on a safety helmet, you must make sure that the bib is facing forward. The bib must be forward to deflect and keep things from hitting you in the face. Make sure the safety helmet is place snug on your head you cannot wear it to the side or backwards.
High visibility clothing or a vest are worn on job sites, when directing traffic, airport workers, hunters or one of my favorites conducting physical training in the Army. The purpose of high visibility clothing is for workers working around moving vehicles or in dark areas. Wearing bright colors like orange and yellow with reflective visibility can make you easily seen and sometimes preventing injury to yourself. The prober way to wear a vest is to have it with straps or zipper facing front.
An Example of Foot protection is steel toe boots, chemical resistance boots or slip resistance boots as directed by the standards of the job site. The footwear should protect from the heat, cold or chemical spill. The Steel toe boots are used to protect from heavy falling objects, wearing insoles to protect your feet are sometimes good in case you are standing on your feet all day. Chemical boots are usually rubber to protect from chemical spills and slip resistance boots are used to help with wet places. All boots should be worn depending on the job site instructions and fit comfortable to your feet.
Hand protection are safety gloves that can protect you from cuts, scrapes chemicals, heat and cold. There are different gloves for different jobs.
