Prayer in School

Prayer in School

I agree with the second column. I feel as though it says that we have always have had prayer in school, so why stop now? I also feel as though this country is based off of freedom and God. For example in the 2ndcolumn it states, “The court conduct its business after a chant that concludes, ‘God save the United States and this Honorable Court.’” Also it states that, “both houses of which have taxpayer-paid chaplains who pray for divine guidance and blessings.” To me this implies that the government includes prayer in their everyday routines. American students who go to public schools still recite the Pledge of Allegiance every day. And during a moment of silence most students might choose to pray. The court departed from its own guidelines in the sense that they support prayer but just not in schools. I think this should all be reconsidered because prayer is a big factor of this countries history. For many years children have prayed in school and I think now with all the different cultures that have migrated here America feels as though they need to comfort the immigrants. I feel as though our country is ran off prayer and for those who do not like...
