What are the bad things you should not do in my country? UAE is one of the most visited countries in the world, but tourists do not know what behavior that local people do not accept. Tourists shall know what to avoid in the visited country. If the tourist knows what to do or what he or she should not do in the visited country, he or she can prevent misunderstanding and can avoid troubles. There are many things tourists should not do in my area; such as, rejecting a diner invitation, speaking with a local woman, and renting a car.
One of the most important things tourists should consider when they come to the region is rejecting any dinner invitation from local people specifically Bedouins, for them It’s rude to reject a dinner or lunch invitation because it is a traditional manner, they like to invite tourists because they want to know other people and they like to make a good relation with the tourists. For example, last month my friend Mohammad Alfaris took me to his relatives and they are Bedouins and they invited me to the dinner and I did not know what to do because I was late and Mohammed said that “I should not reject it because they will take it as a rude expression about themselves”. Another reason why the local people specifically Bedouins invite visitors to make a good expression about UAE and to regards their traditional manners. Accepting a dinner invitation is recommended nevertheless if you reject their invitation, they will feel that you are rude and you are not respecting them.
Another important aspect tourists should be aware of is speaking with a local woman and I mean by speaking that someone talks rudely to her and bother her. It is a big mistake that a foreign person or a tourist may do it because in our habits it is despised that a woman speaks to a foreign or a stranger especially for a long time.
