Fayol’s 14 Principles of Management Essay
1. Remuneration of Personnel. (To maintain their loyalty and support, workers must e given a fair wage for services rendered.)
If I could change the workplace I work in I would start with Remuneration of Personnel. The dictionary defines loyalty as a feeling of strong support for someone or something. The Army explains loyalty as Bearing true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit and other Soldiers. Loyalty is an Army value that I admire a lot because it encompasses all of the Army values. If all soldiers could understand the definition of loyalty the Army would be a better organization. Bearing true faith and allegiance is a matter of believing in and devoting yourself to something or someone. When Soldiers are loyal to their superiors, peers, and subordinates, and organization they are able to maintain morale and a sense of camaraderie, which is essential during highly stressful combat situations. Their loyalty helps with work flow and creates efficiency and effectiveness. A loyal Soldier is one who supports the leadership and stands up for fellow Soldiers also creates a stress free environment. Both superiors and subordinates who show that they are looking out for each other’s best interests will undoubtedly gain loyalty from other soldiers. By wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army you are expressing your loyalty. Wearing Unit patches and deployment patches show the pride you have in your unit. Understanding loyalty plays a big role increasing performance of the Army. It encompasses all the Army Values.
