Problem Statement For Kudler Fine Foods
The main issue at Kudler Fine Foods is that the founder, Kathy Kudler is over extended with the three stores she is currently operating. And is planning to expand into different markets and provide different services, which will only cause her to be more stress and spread even thinner than she already is. She currently handles all of the ordering for all three stores weekly, handles all of the financial, marketing, and research and development, and operations. Because of all of the demands she is faced with in the back of the store, she is losing the connection she has developed with her employees and clients, which is one her strengths. Even though, Ms. Kudler has hired a manager and assistant manager for each of the stores, she has not delegated the management of the inventory for the stores or the financial management part of the business. Delegating these responsibility would free up a lot of her time, allowing her more time to focus on the other areas of the business that are starting to suffer because of neglect. Ms. Kudler saves money by getting bulk rates for products by ordering for all three stores. By delegating the responsibility of maintaining the inventory and identifying what needs to be order for the week to the individual store managers and having them forward this information to Kathy, so all she has to do is review and process the final order. This will free up a majority of her time she spent managing the inventories of all three stores, because she will just have to collect the orders, review and finalize the order. She will still be able to receive the bulk rate discount but not have to do all of the work initial work. This will also allow her to still be involved in deciding what products are in the stores.
