The meaning of procrastination
Accoding to Dictionary.com, “The act or habit of procrastinating is putting off or delaying something especially if it requires immediate attention.” There are many different forms of procrastination. Th three types that are most comon are; laziness, not caring, and not intrested. These three examples are similar in some ways but have diffrences that set them apart.
When I was in middle school I was always on the AB honor role when report cards came out but when I got to high school my grades began to slip. Dictionary.com says, “Laziness is being averse or disinclined to work, activity, or exertion.” Laziness can be a factor when it comes to schoolwork because over the years the amount of papers and worksheets we repeatedly do in school can cause us to get lazy and tired of doing the same old thing. When you have repeated something so many times it becomes boring and gets to the point where you just don't want tto do it anymore. Writing a paper like this one is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Im not trying to say im not interested in the paper, it's just hard for me to concentrate because I have done this so many times before. Lazziness is definetly a big factor in the definition of procrastination and is the culprit to a lot of peoples procrastination.
Teenagers are the ones who go through this form of procrastination the most. The form of procrastination where people just dont care and have no motivation to try could possibly be the worst type of procrastination. For some people it could just be a phase but there are a few who honestly don't care. Alot of kids I knew in high school would walk around acting like they didn't care because they thought it would make them seem cooler. Just like anybody im my situation would I acted the same way my friends did when I was in high school. The truth is everybody who was walking around trying to be cool was actually worried about there schoolwork but never told anybody...
