Theodore Roosevelt is mostly remembered as the 26 President of the United States, In addition to holding elective office as a New York State Assemblyman, Governor of New York, Vice President, and President, he was also a deputy sheriff in the Dakota Territory, Police Commissioner of New York City, U.S. Civil Service Commissioner, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and Colonel of the Rough Riders , all by age 42, making him the youngest man ever to hold the office of President.
He was born in New York City in 1858 into a wealthy family, but he struggle with bad health and by him over coming this he ended up leading a wonderful life. In 1884 his first wife, Alice Lee Roosevelt, and his mother died on the same day. Roosevelt spent much of the next 2 years on his ranch in Dakota. There he learned to cope with that plain as he lived as a free cowboy. During the Spanish-American War, Roosevelt was lieutenant colonel of the Rough Rider Regiment, which he led on a charge at the battle of San Juan. He was one of the most noticeable heroes of the war.
He was a scholarly man that accomplished alot in his days for the good of mankind. He died with great respect and honor and was a great hero to many mankind. He was laid to rest in the suburbs of New York.
