I interviewed my roommate and best friend Stacy who is 27 years old. I chose her because our personalities are different in so many aspects yet our morals and beliefs are so similar. I wanted to interview her to see if our personalities were as different as I anticipated. What I found was a bit surprising. On the surface she tends to be a calm collected person who takes everything she encounters with stride. I tend to be someone who absorbs all of my surroundings. Things tend to affect me much deeper than they do her. She has endured quite a bit of turmoil in her past which I believe has been the influence in developing her personality. Growing up with divorced parents, she had to learn early to be more flexible and self reliant. I grew up with both parents in one home, a stay at home mom, so I developed a more reliant personality. I was the youngest of four children; she was the eldest of 2. I always had someone to help me, she was always the helper. Knowing these differences, it intrigued me to find out more about her. We both prefer to observe behaviors of those around us before we attempt to interact. I can read about behavior gaining an understanding of what I am reading. She learns best by observing otherwise she has to read the material multiple times in order to understand. Stacy always has a positive outlook on situations. She rarely gets over stressed. She tends to be a quiet observer whereas I am a true extrovert. I tend to jump into things with both feet. I think this is due to her having to mostly rely on herself therefore she learned to be more cautious. I, having someone always there for me, learned to be rather over trusting.

I have learned she and I both had a problem with. Growing up I never would understand or tolerate my father’s ill manners in regards to people of another...
