Promise
At a provincial village that has gravel road. There are many wooden houses. It was built just enough material to protect the sun, wind, and rain.
One of events in the village that they saw is two boys holding hands and walking to school together. The older brother‘s name was Grek. He is the son of Mr. Black and Mrs. Lindy who had a grocery store at the small market. The little white skin boy’s name was Percy. After his father died, family was quite difficult. Percy’s mother did many jobs instead she ever just stayed home. Moreover, she would have struggled to make money by selling rice and curry at the market that it’s the few thing that she can do it. She brought money to help the rest of her life, Percy and her blind father.
It all started a few years ago ... "Grek ! You must pick Percy up to school with you.”Do you understand?” Mrs. Lindy said. I understand her reason because Percy’s mother begs his mother at home yesterday. Everyone knows Percy’s family doesn’t talk other people but they beg his mom.
"But actually, they are a good and generous family." mother said.
My thought was immediately reminded about the incident made Percy's father died because he helped the drown child. But he couldn’t help himself because of enormous wave. It’s something that most people in the village still remember persistence.
Both children became a fellow traveler when they go to school.
In years gone by, I was bored with picking Percy up everyday. Even though, I have dark skin like my father but I am handsome and good-looking. I must go home with lovely Percy every evening because Percy’s home is far from school. While Percy is brushing pebbles off on the ground, he doesn’t complain to me because he loved me like brother.
"Let's go," the boy said and tried to suppress unpleasant emotions.
