This causes population growth rate to decrease. It is expected that the population growth will further decline to 1.0 percent for 2020 period. Also, the percentage of the elderly population aged over 60 is growing drastically. It is expected for Malaysia to be an aged nation by 2030 where 15 percent of the population is made up of senior residents.
