1. What is Pres. Obama referencing with the phrase “every so often, the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms”? Pres. Obama was telling us the conditions been faced by the nation from the wars, economy and its effects from job, housing, education and health care. And the nation should get prepare for the rocky road but we as citizens and believing in the American spirit, the nation will weather the storm.
2. What is the historical significance of the locations that Pres. Obama reference in the paragraph to the left (Concort, Gettysbury, Nomandy and Khe Sahn)? The President referenced to those places was to tell the nation the great battles fought, the courage, the love to be one nation, and the sacrificed done by others so we can be what the nation is today and if others can do it under worst conditions then we today can make it with the same spirits as a nation.
3. What important Constitutional amendment is Pres. Obama referencing when he castigates the way other nations engage in the “silencing of dissent”? It was a message to leaders of some nations where they suppress their citizens from basic and descent human rights; Freedom of Expression, Speech and Worship.
4. What is Pres. Obama referencing when he mentions the society that his father lived in the “60 years ago”? Pres. Obama was remind all about the days of civil rights struggles where been JUST BLACK meant you were less than white man, the structures put in some places making sure that black didn’t enjoy the full benefits of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
