When I took the PsyCap self-assessment I scored high in all of the PsyCap categories. At first I wasn’t sure what this had to do with working until I looked more into it. I then realized this has so much to do with how you do your job on a daily basis I never realized until I took the time to do more research about it all. This is a positive psychological state of development by all four areas of Efficacy, Hope, Optimistic and Resilience. All of these categories will be further explained as you read more and example of how pertain to me in my work environment and how they reach my career goals.
It is documented that higher levels of Psycap indicates higher level of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and overall well-being at work. After taking the assessment, my results revealed high levels in all areas. Although, I’ve been in the same position for a while I answered the questions based on my past experiences of job searching. I agree with my results and believe that they reflect those experiences. I’m known to be a very confident individual and often times have alternate solutions to problems before they even occur. Although, I always look at the positive in each situation I am realistic and understand that bad things often happen to good people even though we try to avoid it as much as possible it things still happen.
Strategies that can be developed to advance your career includes using a SWOT Analysis when career planning. A SWOT looks over external and internal environments by examining the strengths and also the weaknesses in the internal and the opportunities and the threats that the external environment is causing. As well as, being flexible to change, being a relationship builder, utilizing your knowledge to help advance to the next level and understanding your strengths and interests by being high in self-awareness.
