CHAPTER 15
FORMED FOR GOD’S FAMILY
Chapter 15 is written to discuss God creating us to be part of his family. God form the human race to be a part of his family. When I read this, I immediately related on my life. I became aware of the reasoning that I was in God’s family. It was not mandatory that God had a family. God desired a family because he wanted the human race to love, worship, and praise him. God is love. God reveres relationships. By joining God’s family will gain a divine understanding. In the King James Bible located in Roman’s Chapter 8 verses 1-11 clearly states, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” These verses helped me remember a time before I had a close bond with Christ. Since that time I have spent a lot of time building the type of character it takes to be in God’s family. As I think back over time, those are the best years of my life. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. This allows me to reflect on all of the things that God has done specifically for me. God saved my life and my soul so I could be a part of his family. As stated in Romans 8 “For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do.” By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us. Who walk not according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
