I have been described by others (and concur with their estimation of my character) as being intelligent, articulate, organized, respectful, attentive and an ambitious young lady. One of my most distinguishing characteristics is the diversity of my professional, educational and community service experiences. I have a Bachelors degree in Political Science with newly acquired knowledge of accounting and project management. I also possess technical aptitude with an interest in management. I have a passion for community service, outreach and mentoring young ladies. Each of these elements affords a broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. These qualities will influence my graduate work because they are intricate components when working with people and managing projects.
I obtained my Political Science Degree from the University of West Georgia. Studying for my degree provided a solid foundation for my creative writing and cognitive skills because political science involves a plethora of case studies and intricate detail to governmental processes and procedures. Working toward my degree also strengthened my ability to write well in general. During my undergraduate and post graduate years, I was afforded the opportunity to work as an intern which eventually became full-time, with a county commissioner. I assisted with implementation of the Domestic Partnership Bill and with several relevant county research projects such as zoning and casino gambling. This experience allowed me the opportunity to put my education into practice with “real world” interaction.
