K-12 schools were built by volunteering parents and therefore were free and made available in everywhere. The higher education was free of charge, too, but it was not enough; therefore, many students traveled abroad.
Girls attended schools just like boys. There was no single-gendered schools, but every classroom was divided into two sections, girls and boys. Neither side crossed to the other gender. This was not demanded by the schools; it was a social norm.
Schools were mostly public and had uniforms, 1st-4th; 5th-8th; and High School 9th-12th.
