Quentin Tarentino

I vividly remember the first time I heard of Quentin Tarantino. I was in 7th grade and was over at a friends house after school. We wanted to watch a movie, so we looked through his movies on the shelf, and I saw Reservoir Dogs. From the moment it came on the screen, I instantly fell in love. I loved everything about the movie, the way it flowed and how the characters conversed. From that day it became, and still is my favorite movie.
Tarantino is known for his unique storytelling and directing techniques, as well as his instant rises to fame. Since he was a child, Tarantino has loved movies, one of his earliest childhood memories is of his grandmother taking him to a John Wayne movie. From there he dropped out of high school and started working in film stores, eventually landing a job at Video Archives in Manhattan Beach. There is where he met Roger Avary, who shared the same enthusiasm for film. Tarantino and Avary started working on screenplays, thus Reservoir Dogs was born. The film was an instant hit, gaining critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival and skyrocketing his fame. In an interview on the set of Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino said that “Lawrence Tierney is insane.” Apparently Tierney was drunk at his apt. when he unloaded his magnum into his wall and was then taken to jail. “He was taken from his bail arraignment to the set.” says Tarantino. Tarantino has a unique style of writing usually jumping back and forth between scenes and time frames. His movies usually include things such as Mexican Standoffs as well as large amounts of blood.

In my opinion self taught people in the artistic field are usually the best at what they do. This is because of...
