Apple is one of the many businesses that have succeeded within the last five years. They can attribute this success to their organization’s objectives, vision and mission. Steve Jobs started Apple’s mission back during the organization’s startup and was “Man is the creator of change in this world. As such he should be above systems and structures, and not subordinate to the” (Steve, Jobs, 1980). Apple describes its objectives to provide the world with some of the most advance and user friendly technology. Apple includes a list of its own products and how they can have a positive effect for the technology needed within today’s world. Their motto is made up of two simple words but has been proven to be very successful and powerful throughout the company’s last five years especially and is “Think Different.” Through the use of this motto they create an introspective and self-containing style of operating that keeps them ahead of the competition.
Indicators of Apple’s success can be contributed to their organizational and leadership structure. Apple constructed its organizational management system around the creating of distinctive products with methods of innovation. They used a set of management practices and structures that were specific to their goals that had been set in front of them. Apple’s leadership style is to make sure their own road through doing things their way. This was seen when Apple didn’t back down from a fight that they knew they could win.
