In order to market a product or service, it is imperative that a company tailor its marketing and sales efforts to specifically reach the segment of population that will most likely buy the product or service being sold. There are several steps that should be taken in reaching a target market. One step is to identify potential customers. Secondly, conduct market research; choose a target market after surveys have been completed. Compile a customer profile and lastly utilize resources. It is important when targeting an audience the one determines why a customer would want to buy the product or service. It is imperative that Kraft Foods identify what its products and service can offer customers as a benefit or feature.
Kraft Foods targeted audience is that of the average everyday busy adult. This product is targeted towards anyone who works a full time job and would like to save time and not want to go out to a ordering fast food or from restaurants. The snacks are little more efficient and convenient. If we take a busy parent who is always on the go between dropping off and picking up children from school, practices, youth groups or study groups, and try to fit in a time where he or she will have time to feed their children lunch or dinner and still have time to get the children to their designated stops; then the Kraft foods snack is just the snack for them. We can take the busy business-person who is loyal to his or her fast food run daily; having the convenience of a of a handy snack in the car with them. A family who has both mom and dad who work full time jobs, getting dinner in an efficient manner after work and to the table is a benefit that the whole family will enjoy;. The singles who are working and possibly going to school, making it possible for he or she to have a snack and being able to make it to work on time during school and after school.
