The article was all about discriminating the Filipino language and the author lacks knowledge with regard to the Filipino culture. He is complete disgrace to the Filipino people. The writer thinks about himself and is completely arrogant with a lot of crab-mentalities written all over him. However, I actually respect what he said because he is telling a story about his experiences in life. But he should not stereotype or generalize Filipino language specifically the Filipinos itself. Upon analyzing the article, it is obvious he is living the life of someone who can easily get what he wants and go anywhere he wants to. Not everyone in the Philippines are like him. To them, they lack education so how can you expect them to completely learn English by heart? Lack of education because of financial issues or poverty. Now, putting myself in his shoes, I completely understand where he is coming from. English is a widely-used and widely-spoken language. You can easily go anywhere and get what you want with English. And I am being realistic. It can easily give you a promotion or even work outside of the Philippines and earn something huge. Yet forgetting the history of your birth place is nonsense. Forgetting the efforts of the heroes of the Philippines making the country independent is really disappointing. Everything was put to waste. It shows the kind of education that the school or the schools he went to provided him. The school or school was or were not nationalistic after all. There is a possibility it is not the school though. How about the parents? Most parents want their kid or kids to learn English just for the sake of being “susyal” or something that will make their kid or kids ahead that others. Realistically speaking, that’s true. Blame it to the parents. They obviously forgot their own culture and traditions. They decided to ignore the efforts of the national heroes making the Philippines an independent country.
