I really enjoyed the article on “Shared Talking Styles Herald New and Lasting Romance”. It gave some very good insight on how to communicate with another individual and even helps a person to understand how they can have more confidence in themself, not just in a serious relationship but in a friendship setting as well. I enjoyed using the Language Style Matching Tool and found it useful for myself in my friendships and the relationship with my husband.
It was very interesting being informed of my score which was a .85 and was also said to be more above average. I was happy to know that I can communicate well with my friends and family and be in tune with myself and of the others around me. It makes me feel good that I am properly understanding of them and it’s not just an ear I am lending but my whole heart in return.
I used to worry if I was “just listening” or if I was “really listening” to my friends and family and there is a difference for sure. I have to say that my overall personal experience of this has not only shown me but it has helped me to also feel that it is pretty accurate.
I feel that if people are being open and honest within their conversations like I and my friend was that day about our topic, then yes it will be a highly comprehensive way of predicting the quality in an interpersonal relationship. I feel however if someone is not paying attention or being honest within their conversation then they will probably have a much lower ended score. This is where a person has to sit and think about their own morals and values and where they feel they fit in.
