Executive Summery

The regency Plaza project is a hotel with 300 rooms concatenated with 96 luxury condominiums. Several People were allocated for various project areas and Hodgkins was assigned as the project manager for condominiums. The project was eventually being a failure due to excess Budget and exceeding the deadline.
For the success of a project it should have a good project definition and a good portfolio management. Hodgkins also had to take very important decisions about the project and we can see that she has not taken the best decisions all the time.
A project Manager should be able to plan, execute, monitor and control the project until the end and prioritize on finishing the project on time despite of problems they would come across.
As per the case study, Hodgkins has listed down options to overcome these issues.
As mentioned earlier Regency Plaza hotel complex contains 96 luxury condominiums and 300 hotel rooms. Comparatively this has a big area and stated as a four star restaurant with health club, valet parking and concierge service. First and second floors are differentiated as a common area for both hotel and condominium owners. The next eight floors are allocated for hotel rooms and the last 12 floors are set for condominium units. Two levels for parking are included in this hotel scope.
The initial deadline for this project was 15th of July. But they were unable to view notice of schedule by naming that process and its deadline. This is distrust about milestones. Hodgkins has not applied any advance strategy to this project. That can be seen when we come across the technical requirements.
After covering the assigned budget and considering other aspects (including human resources), the project would be a failure. Hodgkins’s first concern was limits and exclusions.
