Relaxation

While many can argue that home cannot be a relaxing place, it also is where your heart and many happy memories are, it is familiar and soothing. It gives you an excuse to unwind and relax in a place you are comfortable. People can spend exorbitant amounts of money for trips they go on to relax. They stay in luxury hotels and eat gourmet food. This would be fabulous if everyone could afford such vacations. For me, however, the perfect place to relax is my room. My feelings: no place is more relaxing than home.
Up till now, I have owned this room for eight years. It is decorated, and laid out the way that is perfect for me. The walls of the room are painted a beautiful pale teal blue which is my favorite color. This color is cool yet warm to me and very calming. The wall my bed is against has my favorite poster mounted in a dark wood frame. It depicts the exploding tardis from the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. This poster is done in the art style of Vincent van Gogh. The colors are bright and vibrant yellows, oranges, purples, and blues. This poster shows my love for the weird and unique.
My bed below this centerpiece has a small mountain of pillows, a large quilt made of cotton and soft, fluffy fibers and more often than not it has a book or two nestled in somewhere. All of my bed clothes are done in some shade of blue and made of cotton. The frame itself is dark chocolate brown leather. To the immediate left of my bed is a gold colored metal, three tiered table with a beautiful damask pattern cut out of the metal. This holds my retro powder blue alarm clock as well as a dark brown oval glasses case. The second and third tiers hold various books and journals. Opposite my bed is a dark brown armoire and matching desk to the right. My desk holds a white square cup that holds my pens and pencils. My laptop is a 17.5 inch dark blue and silver dell with a matching wireless mouse that sits on a black mouse pad.
