It is hard for people to ignore additives and unhealthy ingredients inside the food that is eaten ingredients, especially one named monosodium and is almost impossible to ignore. It is a manmade ingredient which is also known as MSG and is known and commonly added into Asian food. This is the reason why most people try to ignore eating Chinese food because they are sensitive to MSG. People can develop symptoms after eating. Chefs would use this ingredient to enhance the flavour of the food to satisfy costumer’s taste buds. This white powder is not made in Canada but is imported to be used as an ingredient for processed foods. This would make use to have costumers feel fuller than usual. Most people are now trying to avoiding the intake of MSG, but are they actually really avoiding it? People who try to ignore MSG are really not conscious that it is in almost in everything we eat above all it is in almost every processed food, this is an issue because people are not aware of the hidden ingredients, the symptoms of MSG and how MSG is addicting and enhance obesity.

MSG is in almost every single processed food and commonly used as a replacement for other ingredients such as meat and vegetables. As the food processed industry goes on our taste buds are being amped to liking the emulsified flavours. According to Protect, Yourself Magazine “using MSG as a way to cut down on more expensive ingredients. In it’s advertising, a major MSG producer recommends to food producers that they use less poultry, meat or vegetables and add MSG to obtain the same taste” (1988). MSG is tasteless but adds flavour into the food which can help food producers spend less on the other hand it is bad for the customers who buy it because it is not healthy for us. The factories make more profit from this and giving us low quality food even though the taste is the same.
