There are several careers for one to choose from. When I began researching different careers I looked for the things that were most exciting to me. I found that real estate was a very interesting career. Real estate is a fascinating career that has many different job opportunities with the right education, a stable outlook, good money and excellent working conditions.
The first thing for one to know when wanting to obtain a career in real-estate is the education that he/she needs. To hold any position in real-estate, a person must have a license. “ To become licensed, candidates must be high school graduates, be at least 18 years old, and complete a particular number of hours of real-estate courses” (“Real Estate Sales Agent” 1). Although it is not required to have college courses to become a licensed real-estate agent or broker—Fitch states some post-secondary education is preferred. Employers generally look for individuals with a four-year degree with a back ground in business or marketing. Courses in accounting, finance or real estate are very helpful, as are courses in computer science and database management. A working knowledge of financial spread sheet financial software is an important background (152).
The second thing one should know is all the different job opportunities that he or she could acquire in the field of real-estate. The real estate buyer’s agent is a real-estate sales professional who, by agreement, seeks to represent the buyer in a real-estate transaction rather than the seller (Fitch 169). A buyers agent must help buyers purchase property at the lowest price under the best terms (Fitch 169). The second career is the “New Home Sales Representative, works with new home buyers in planned communities or new housing developments. They also assist buyers through the home closing process.
