Response to "The Androgynous Man"

The Androgynous Man
I enjoyed my ability to understand this reading throughout the whole thing, unlike each of the others I have read so far. It was very simple and was interesting. The first question I am going to answer asks, “What does it mean to be androgynous? How is an androgynous man different from other men?” To be androgynous is to be a female or male with a high degree of both feminine and masculine traits. An androgynous man is different from other men because he has the feminine traits which most other men do not.
Next, I will answer the question which asks “According to Perrin, what are the characteristics of a truly masculine man?” Those characteristics, according to Perrin, are that they have a little biological set that causes them to be attracted to physical power and dominance. Possibly to watching football, he states. They are unself-consciously at ease in the world also.
The last question asks how you define yourself and to list some advantages and disadvantages of this self-definition. I define myself as feminine and a female for sure, although I may be a variation of a “Tomboy” girl. I think the advantages of this are that I am confident in what I was born as and continue to live out my life with this femininity, even though I do not consider myself a “girly-girl.” I do not personally see a disadvantage of this self-definition, although there are many people in this world which would.
