REVIEW
THE ICEMAN, BY PHILLIP CARLO
The iceman is a compelling and chilling story of Richard Kuklinski, a mafia contract killer who was responsible for well over 200 murders. He is perhaps the most sadistic mass murderer in American history. He was so detached from his emotions that he was labeled the iceman, because he was as cold as ice so cold he could watch a man being eaten alive by ravenous rats.
Richard Kuklinski father was an abusive bully and subjected Richard and his brother Floren to several violent beatings, one which eventually lead to his brothers death. Richard witnessed this beating which had an impact on his ability to detach from his emotions. He first murdered when he was just fourteen because a sixteen year old boy was bullying him. This lead to a violent and criminal path from stealing and then eventually becoming a contract killer for the top east crime families. For an extra fee he would make sure his victims suffered. He especially preyed on bullies, he never killed children or women and he never laid a hand on his own children you could even describe him as a model father.
The story details Richards brutal killings spanning 40years, his life and family. Unraveling the gory and violent life he led throughout his ruthless career. This story is a picture of the double life Richard led “deadly assassin and devoted Dad’’ . His undoing was brought about after a six year investigation by New Jersey policeman Pat Kane. He was brought to justice and received four life sentences, but eventually passed away from Wegener’s disease on March 5th 2006, serving only 23 years of his sentence.

Phillip Carlo reveals all in the Ice-man a chilling portrait of a remorseless Killer a man who would feed another man to rats without flinching, he was not a man but an Ice-man.
Readers will become so engrossed in the gruesome details of this story that they will be chilled to the bone and forget it is a true story .
